Intern

After years of consideration the One Year Live-In internship is available.  A number of folks have stayed for durations ranging from a week to a couple of months, using our backdoor wilderness as a training ground, helping out with farm chores.  The LOTSWild Internship Program is something altogether different.

College Level: Intern for a summer program or special clinic and help run logistics at one of the area's premier wilderness classrooms.  Cooking, errands, team building, photography, and counseling will make up the bulk of your tasks as you traverse beautiful Appalachian settings.  Fee: none.  Reimbursement: depends on experience and travel distance.

Spartan:  This program is a life changer.  If you are dedicated to the art of survival, wish to excel in martial arts, and learn from leaders in the field with daily hands on training for a full year - this program is for you.  You will live close to the mountain, enduring environmental changes, helping with tasks that keep a high altitude dojo in operation.  You will attend and be provided transportation to a minimum of four area group martial arts classes weekly studying striking, locks, throws, tools, chokes, and have all on-site resources at your disposal (see Facility).  You will participate as a student and leader in all LOTSWild classes, including advanced Scout Programs, international, and Sailing courses.  You will receive private lessons from master and grandmaster level instructors who regularly attend our programs.  You will train in local and regional seminars with associate schools.  You will learn local edible plants, medicines, farming, building, trapping and how to hunt with results using modern and primitive means.

You will be provided with living quarters and a woodstove, clean water, electricity, and an outhouse.  You will be given a 35 mile radio and enjoy the safety net of a base camp to venture out from.  You will become deeply immersed in the old Tsalagi Scout ways, the 9 schools of Budo Taijutsu, and the power hitting style of Tang Soo Do.

What's more, you will discover old methods of healing, spend time in fellowship, and develop a unique spiritual perspective on the arts and life.  The internship is followed by an agreed upon solo wilderness time where you prove to yourself that you have learned the craft.

Price: $10,000.  Non-Negotiable.  That is the minimum I can accept for the level of investment of myself, my family, and my resources for a year.  Thank you for understanding.

Must clear an extensive background check and provide 100% payment upon arrival after interviews and initial visits.
